Reggie Moore comes from distinctive jazz lineage; he grew up in NYC as the son of Billy Moore, musician and arranger for the Jimmy Lunceford Orchestra. Leading his own trio, Reggie has toured Japan, the United States and Europe, and recorded two albums for Mainstream. He arranged for the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band and has worked with such renowned jazz greats as Johnny Hartman, Betty Carter, Anita O’Day, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Gary Bartz, Woody Shaw, Benny Golson, Scott Hamilton, Houston Person and Kenny Burrell - to name but a few. Together with vocalist Joe Lee Wilson, Reggie performed in the Middle East as Jazz Ambassador for the U.S. State Department.

Disparate as these may seem, he fuses them with the authority of a concert pianist and all the urgency of an inveterate blues man. Since 1985 Reggie Moore has been living in Berlin, Germany, with his wife, jazz singer Cornelia Moore. His unique art, which he himself calls “Communicable Music” and his genuine, dedicated teaching at the Jazz Institute Berlin/Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik, have been impacting the German jazz scene for the last 27 years. Reggie’s future plans include composing film music and publishing his educational concepts.

-Martin Auer is a Berlin based jazz trumpet player from South Germany. He leads his own quintet and plays along as sideman in many projects all over Europe. At the moment he is guest professor for trumpet at the Jazzinstitut Berlin.
-Drummer Michael Kersting is a true jazz enthusiast. He has performed in renowned jazz clubs and at festivals all across Europe, lived and worked in NYC for a couple of years, and has shared the stage with – among many others - Chet Baker, Mal Waldron, Trilok Gurtu, Klaus Doldinger, Albert Mangelsdorff, Jaco Pastorius, Richie Beirach, Steve Lacy and Benny Golson.
-Walter Gauchel turned to music at the age of 20 and studied for two semesters at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . Already during this time he was a year Long member of the Vienna Art Orchestra and with him tours throughout Europe. In 1981 he performed with the orchestra at the Jazztagen Berlin.
From 1987 to 1989 he was a member of the orchestra of the Theater des Westens, Berlin. As a soloist, he worked for the RIAS Dance Orchestra (later RIAS Big Band ) from 1989 to 2002, playing with Dave Brubeck , Lee Konitz , Toots Thielemans , Clark Terry , Natalie Cole and others. He is a member of Aki Takases Quintet "Aki and the Goodboys" and also performs with her in the formation "The Art of Duo".
Reggie Moore wurde 1938 in New York City geboren. Sein Vater, Arrangeur / Pianist Billy Moore schrieb u.a. für Jimmy Lunceford und Charlie Barnet und nahm seinen Sohn oft zu Proben oder Konzerten mit. Schon mit seinem Debutalbum WISHBONE, welches bei Mainstream Records erschien, präsentierte Reggie ein musikalisches Werk voll emotionaler Dichte und kreativer Individualität. Im Laufe seiner mittlerweile 50 jährigen Karriere hat Reggie mit vielen Jazzlegenden die Bühne geteilt, spielte z.B. mit Betty Carter, Gary Bartz, Benny Golson, Kenny Burrell, Johnny Hartman, Anita O´Day, Woody Shaw, Houston Person, Hal Singer, Cab Calloway, Scott Hamilton und Harry “Sweets” Edison. Er arrangierte u.a. für die Big Bands von Thad Jones und Mel Lewis, spielte in den Swing-Shows Bubbling Brown Sugar, Ain´t Misbehavin´, tourte mit seinem eigenen Trio durch die USA, Japan und Europa und spielte für Mainstream Records zwei Alben ein. Seit 1985 Jahren lebt Reggie Moore mit seiner Frau, der Jazzsängerin Cornelia Moore, in Berlin, hat die Musikszene dieser Stadt ungemein bereichert und lehrt dort seit 1996 an der HfM Hanns Eisler (heute JIB/Jazz Institute Berlin)
Reggie Moore hat sich zu einem Künstler entwickelt, der sein Publikum auf unbeschreibliche Weise zu berühren vermag. Sein vielschichtiges Spiel, das er selbst als communicable music bezeichnet, rührt Bilder und Gefühle auf, kreiert eine lyrische, sinnliche und sensible Welt, in der Reggie und seine Zuhörer sich begegnen und miteinander kommunizieren können. Die intensive Auseinandersetzung mit der eigenen Persönlichkeit haben Reggie und sein wunderbares Talent zu dem reifen lassen, was seine Fans heute in ihm hören - einem Zauberer am Piano, “um den sich eigentlich alle europäischen Festivals reißen müssten”(Joe Viera / Jazzpodiun 7/8 1998).
Martin Auer studierte Trompete (bei Stephan Zimmermann bzw. Gerard Presencer) und Komposition/ Arrangement (bei Jürgen Friedrich) in Mannheim und Berlin.
Seit Herbst 2008 hat Martin Auer einen Lehrauftrag für Jazztrompete an der Musikhochschule in Leipzig und war Dozent bei zahlreichen Ensembles u.a. Bundesjazzorchester, Landesjugendjazzorchester Sachsen/Saarland/Berlin.
Drummer Michael Kersting ist ein echter Jazz Enthusiast. Er ist in den legendären Jazz Clubs und auf Festivals in ganz Europe zu Hause, lebte und arbeitete aber auch zwei Jahre lang in NYC, und hat u.a. mit Chet Baker, Mal Waldron, Trilok Gurtu, Klaus Doldinger, Albert Mangelsdorff, Jaco Pastorius, Richie Beirach, Steve Lacy and Benny Golson konzertiert.
Walter Gauchel wandte sich erst im Alter von 20 Jahren der Musik zu und studierte nach zwei Semestern an der Hochschule der Künste, Berlin an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz. Bereits während dieser Zeit war er ein Jahr lang Mitglied des Vienna Art Orchestra und unternahm mit ihm Tourneen durch Europa. 1981 trat er mit dem Orchester bei den Jazztagen Berlin auf.
Von 1987 bis 1989 war er Mitglied des Orchesters des Theaters des Westens, Berlin. Als Solist war er von 1989 bis 2002 beim RIAS Tanzorchester (später RIAS Big Band) angestellt und spielte dort zusammen mit Dave Brubeck, Lee Konitz, Toots Thielemans, Clark Terry, Natalie Cole u. a. Seit 2002 ist er freier Jazzmusiker. Er ist Mitglied in Aki Takases Quintett "Aki and the Good Boys" und tritt mit ihr auch in der Formation "The Art of Duo" auf.
