He has released 24 recordings full of his intelligent writing and impressive technique. His latest CD on the Origin Label is called”The Endless Mysteries” and features Larry Grenadier and Jack DeJohnette. Colligan’s musical style incorporates everything from showtunes to funk, from free improvisation to 20th century classical music. His performances include dazzling technique as well as mature restraint. He is currently a member of Jack DeJohnette’s New Quintet.Recently, Colligan started playing the Hammond 44 Melodion(melodica). “Colligan is an equally deserving torch-carrier of the piano trio tradition….” John Kelman , All About Jazz

“As a creative artist, he’s really up there…. In terms of technique, knowledge of music and improvisational creativity, there aren’t a whole lot of cats from his generation that are any better than him. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of any.”– Don Braden in a blindfold test for Jazz Times

“Pianist George Colligan stole the set with a display of technique that inspired a standing ovation.”-Harvey Siders, Jazz Times, in a review of a Ravi Coltrane concert.

Josh Ginsburg's bass playing has been described as “a rock of counterpoint, funk and swing” (Financial Times, London), and his original music "...reveal(s) itself in gradually unfolding layers” (JazzTimes, USA). His most recent album as leader, "Zembla Variations", was chosen as an Album of the Year by the New York City Jazz Record. Long-time collaborator George Colligan is considered one of the premier pianists in modern jazz. He has toured with Jack DeJohnette, Cassandra Wilson, Buster Williams, Lee Konitz and many others; and has recorded 26 albums under his own name. Here is a rare chance to hear this virtuoso in Berlin!

Drummer Dejan Terzic is one of a couple of handfuls of young musicians living in Germany who have begun to make their presence felt on the world jazz scene in the last decade. The reason for this abundance of budding world class talent taking root and flourishing in the German jazz soil is a theme for the jazz historian - but the fact is that Germany has become fertile ground for contemporary jazz.
