The Zig Zag Jazz Club is proud to present one of the most exciting up and coming jazz stars in the European Jazz Scene. A young genius of of just 19 years, Tal has already been featured on many jazz records and has graced some of the greatest stages around the world. His current quartet features some of the most in demand and respected jazz musicians in the German Jazz Scene. The Band will be performing a fine selection of Jazz music inspired by Guitar masters such as Wes Montgomery, John Scofield, George Benson and Pat Metheny. Prepare for an evening of unparalleled virtuosity, spontaneous interactions, and fiery improvisations!
-Arditi studied at the prestigious Rimon University Of Music in Israel. At the age of 17 he reached the finales at the "Israeli Jazz Player" competition. After his studies he preformed at several jazz festivals in Israel and Europe including, the "Umbria Jazz Festival," "Red Sea Jazz Festival," ''Jerusalem Jazz Festival’,’ and the "XJAZZ festival." Tal moved recently to Berlin and has quickly become one of the most sought after players in the German jazz scene. Tal has recently released his Debut album, ''Portrait''.

-Ben Kraef is a German-Montenegrin saxophonist and composer based in Berlin, In 2007 he relocated to New York City on a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and obtained a Master of Arts from The City College of New York in 2009. He has collaborated with the likes of John Patittuci, Marcus Gilmore and Toots Thielemans
Benjamin Tiberio recently moved to Berlin from New York City, where he was one of the most in demand bassists in the scene, playing and touring frequently in USA and Europe.
-Ugo Alunni is a drummer from Perugia, Italy. He attended the Conservatorio di Musica "Francesco Morlacchi” di Perugia (2000-2004) after which he moved to New York for further studies at the Collective School of Music (2005-2006).
He has been living in Berlin since 2010 where he studied at the Jazz Institut Berlin under the guidance of John Hollenbeck, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Greg Cohen and David Friedman, graduating in 2016.
He has played with Rossano Emili, Perugia Jazz Orchestra, Pietro Tonolo, Joe Chambers, Dan Kinzelman, Alessandro Lanzoni, Elias Stemeseder, Phil Donkin, Uli Kempendorff, Julia Hülsmann and many others.
Bassist/composer Ben Tiberio, from Rochester, NY, has established himself as a leading voice on bass in his generation. Since moving to New York City in early 2015, Ben has performed at the city’s finest venues for jazz, such as Dizzy’s Club, Smalls, The Jazz Gallery, Birdland, and Mezzrow. His talents have led him to perform at jazz festivals across the US and abroad, and he has performed with some of today’s most notable jazz artists, including Veronica Swift, Joel Ross, Ari Hoenig, John Stetch, Kenny Barron, Aaron Goldberg, Fabian Almazan, Dayna Stephens, Johnathan Blake, James Francies, Emmet Cohen and Justin Brown.

Einer der Gründe, die den Zig Zag Jazzclub so einzigartig machen, ist, dass er der erste und einzige Jazzclub der Welt ist, dem es gelingt nur durch freiwilligem Eintritt/Crowdfunding Events von Weltklasse zu finanzieren. Und wie machen wir das? Ganz einfach. Während der Konzertpause geben wir bekannt, dass wir Geld einsammeln werden. Bei den meisten Konzerten (außer Jam Sessions) informieren wir unsere Kunden, dass ein Beitrag von ungefähr 15 Euro es uns erlaubt die Musiker gerecht zu bezahlen. Manche geben dabei mehr und andere weniger... und das ist auch in Ordnung. Wir haben auf diese Weise schon Hunderte Konzerte organisiert.
One of the reasons that makes the zig zag jazz club so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. For most concerts (excluding the jam session) we inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!
