Ein neues Trio in Europa definiert die Schnittstelle zwischen brasilianischer Musik, kammermusikalischer Klangsprache und zeitgenössischem Jazz neu. AMARÉ - das Debütalbum von Céline Rudolph, Henrique Gomide und João Luís Nogueira - entwirft eine kühne und poetische Vision davon, wie brasilianischer Jazz im Jahr 2026 klingen kann: intim, intuitiv und unaufhörlich im Fluss. Brasilien ist der gemeinsame Puls des Trios - rhythmisch, melodisch, spirituell. Doch AMARÉ ist kein nostalgischer Rückgriff und kein Stil-Experiment. Gomide spielt mit dem kristallinen Anschlag eines klassisch ausgebildeten Pianisten, der in den Vokabularen von Hermeto Pascoal und Egberto Gismonti zu Hause ist. Nogueiras Gitarre bringt gleichzeitig Bodenhaftung und Leichtigkeit ins Spiel, mit Linien, die Baden Powell und Ralph Towner verbinden. Und Rudolphs Stimme - zwischen Lyrik und Improvisation, Intimität und Offenheit - erinnert daran, warum TSF Jazz France sie eine „Perle des europäischen Vocal Jazz” nennt. „AMARÉ ist für mich ein Aufbruchsort“, so Rudolph. „Diese Musik bewegt sich wie eine Gezeitenwelle. Die Grenzen zwischen den Genres verschwimmen, und wir lassen uns treiben - zu neuen Ufern, neuen Strömungen, neuen Lebensformen.“

Céline Rudolph: mehrfache ECHO Jazz-Preisträgerin, wurde 2024 mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis ausgezeichnet - ein weiterer Meilenstein in einer Karriere, die sie mit Größen wie Naná Vasconcelos, Lionel Loueke oder Leo Genovese zusammenbrachte. Sie verbindet sängerisch wie kompositorisch brasilianische Musik, Jazz, Chanson und afrikanische Einflüsse auf einzigartige Weise. Ihr Weg führt sie von Berlin über Paris und São Paulo bis nach New York. 

Henrique Gomide: brasilianischer Pianist, bekannt für seinen feinen Anschlag und seine lyrische Klarheit. Kopf des renommierten Trios Caixa Cubo, unterrichtet Jazzklavier am ArtEZ Conservatorium in den Niederlanden und hat mit Tony Lakatos, John Ruocco, Guinga und Yamandu Costa zusammengearbeitet. 

João Luís Nogueira: Virtuose an der akustischen Gitarre, Komponist, Rhythmusmensch. Er tourt durch Europa, spielte mit Viktoria Mullova, Uli Beckerhoff und einigen der spannendsten Stimmen Brasiliens. Sein Sound: geerdet, offen, immer auf Entdeckungsreise.

A new trio in Europe is redefining the intersection of Brazilian music, chamber-like sound aesthetics, and contemporary jazz. AMARÉ — the debut album by Céline Rudolph, Henrique Gomide, and João Luís Nogueira — sketches a bold and poetic vision of what Brazilian jazz can sound like in 2026: intimate, intuitive, and constantly in motion. Brazil is the trio’s shared pulse — rhythmically, melodically, spiritually. Yet AMARÉ is neither a nostalgic throwback nor a stylistic experiment. Gomide plays with the crystalline touch of a classically trained pianist who feels at home in the vocabularies of Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti. Nogueira’s guitar brings both grounding and lightness, with lines that bridge Baden Powell and Ralph Towner. And Rudolph’s voice — poised between lyricism and improvisation, intimacy and openness — reminds us why TSF Jazz France calls her “a pearl of European vocal jazz.”

“AMARÉ is a place of departure for me,” says Rudolph. “This music moves like a tidal wave. The boundaries between genres dissolve, and we allow ourselves to drift — toward new shores, new currents, new forms of life.”

Céline Rudolph is a Berlin-based vocalist whose work dissolves boundaries between jazz, Brazilian music, African rhythm, and European art song. She has received multiple ECHO Jazz awards and the 2024 Deutscher Jazzpreis, and has collaborated with Naná Vasconcelos, Lionel Loueke, and Leo Genovese.

Henrique Gomide is a Brazilian pianist known for his refined touch and lyrical clarity. Leader of the acclaimed trio Caixa Cubo he teaches jazz piano at ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands and collaborated with Tony Lakatos, John Ruocco, Guinga and Yamandu Costa.

João Luís Nogueira is a guitarist, composer, and rhythmic architect. Active across Europe, he has performed with Viktoria Mullova, Uli Beckerhoff, and leading names in Brazilian music. His playing is both rooted and exploratory.
