Die Jazzdiva Andy James mit der rauchigen Stimme zählt zu den bedeutendsten Stimmen der Jazzwelt, der Pianist Jon Cowherd ist spätestens seit der Fellowship Band (mit Brian Blade) nicht mehr aus der Jazzwelt wegzudenken. Mit ihrem All-Star-Ensemble bringen sie Virtuosität, Ausdruckskraft und packende Improvisationen auf die Bühne und beleuchten das Feld zwischen Flamenco und Jazz auf einzigartige Weise, begleitet von einer wirklich exquisit besetzten Band. Andy James ist eine Jazzsängerin, die zu den Größen ihres Fachs gehört. Aufgewachsen in Melbourne, verbrachte sie viele Jahre als Flamenco-Tänzerin in Spanien und Europa, bevor sie ihren musikalischen Fokus verstärkt aufs Gesangliche legte. Andy ist bekannt nicht nur für ihre stimmliche Kraft und Lyrik, sondern auch für ihre Fähigkeit, Genres mit Authentizität zu verschmelzen. Ob bei Interpretationen des Great American Songbook oder bei jazzigen Flamenco-Einflüssen – ihre Auftritte bestechen durch emotionale Tiefe, stilvolle Eleganz und eine echte Verbindung zum Publikum. Ihr Album Happy People (2025) ist ein mutiger Ausdruck ihrer beiden Leidenschaften – Jazz und Flamenco. In Zusammenarbeit mit Piero Pata und Jon Cowherd entstand ein Projekt mit einem Starensemble, welches auch am heutigen Abend zu hören sein wird.

Jon Cowherd ist ein gefragter Pianist, Komponist und Arrangeur, der sich durch harmonische Raffinesse und poetische Virtuosität auszeichnet. Als Gründungsmitglied des Brian Blade Fellowship hat er internationale Anerkennung erlangt und ist für seine tiefgründigen Improvisationen und seine elegante Begleitung bekannt. Des Weiteren arbeitete er unter anderem mit John Patitucci, Bill Frisell, Iggy Pop und Cassandra Wilson zusammen.

Canito (Juan Antonio Suárez) ist ein Flamenco-Gitarrist und Komponist. Er hat einige der großen Stars des Flamenco-Tanzes begleitet, darunter Manuela Carrasco, Belén, Sara Baras, Javier Barón, schreibt Filmmusiken und gehört zweifellos zu den renommiertesten Künstlern seines Faches.

Dominique Di Piazza gilt als einer der herausragendsten E-Bassisten unserer Zeit. Der Autodidakt entwickelte seine ganz eigene Technik, die zu seinem unverwechselbaren Sound führte. Mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Virtuosität und seinem lyrischen Ausdruck prägte er Generationen von Musikern. Seine Karriere führte ihn an die Seite einiger der größten Namen der Musikgeschichte: John McLaughlin, Bireli Lagrène, Gil Evans, Trilok Gurtu, Dennis Chambers und viele mehr.

Alex Acuña ist eine lebende Legende der Percussion und Drums, bekannt für seine unvergleichliche Rhythmusvielfalt und kreative Ausdruckskraft. Der Perkussionist aus Peru hat mit Größen wie Weather Report, Paul McCartney, Ella Fitzgerald und Chick Corea gearbeitet und seine einzigartige Mischung aus Jazz, Latin und Weltmusik weltweit gefeiert.

Jon Cowherd is a sought-after pianist, composer, and arranger known for his harmonic sophistication and poetic virtuosity. As a founding member of the Brian Blade Fellowship he achieved worldwide acclaim, recognized for his profound improvisations and elegant touch. He has also collaborated with artists as diverse as John Patitucci, Bill Frisell, Iggy Pop, and Cassandra Wilson.

With his extraordinary virtuosity and lyrical expression, he has influenced generations of musicians. His career has brought him together with some of the greatest names in music history, including John McLaughlin, Bireli Lagrène, Gil Evans, Trilok Gurtu, Dennis Chambers, and many more.

Alex Acuña is a living legend of percussion and drums, renowned for his unmatched rhythmic versatility and creative voice. The Peruvian master has performed with Weather Report, Paul McCartney, Ella Fitzgerald, Chick Corea, and many others, celebrated worldwide for his ability to blend jazz, Latin, and world music traditions.
