Eine der erfolgreichsten und langlebigsten Bands der amerikanischen Musikgeschichte steht im Mittelpunkt dieses besonderen Abends! Seit ihrer Gründung 1967 hat Chicago mehr als 100 Millionen Tonträger verkauft und zahlreiche Nummer-eins-Alben und Top-10-Singles veröffentlicht. Was Ende der 1960er-Jahre als außergewöhnliche Verbindung einer Rockband mit einem festen Bläsersatz begann, entwickelte sich zu einem unverwechselbaren Sound und einer Karriere, die mittlerweile fast sechs Jahrzehnte umfasst. 2016 wurde Chicago in die Rock & Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen, 2020 erhielt die Band den Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Und die Liste der Songs ist gewaltig: „25 or 6 to 4“, „Saturday in the Park“, „Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?“, „Make Me Smile“, „Beginnings“, „Colour My World“, „If You Leave Me Now“, „Hard to Say I’m Sorry“ und „You’re the Inspiration“ gehören zu den Klassikern der Band. Am 2. Dezember kommt mit Chicago Legacy die Band von Chicago-Gründungsmitglied und Original-Schlagzeuger Danny Seraphine für ein ganz besonderes Konzert nach Berlin! Seraphine bringt damit genau jene Musik auf die Bühne, an deren Entstehung er über mehr als zwei Jahrzehnte selbst beteiligt war.
Danny Seraphine gehörte von der Gründung 1967 bis 1990 zu Chicago und spielte auf sämtlichen Studioalben der Band in dieser Zeit. Er prägte damit sowohl die frühen Jahre, in denen Chicago Rock, Jazz und Soul zu einem damals außergewöhnlichen Bandsound verband, als auch die großen internationalen Erfolge der 1980er-Jahre. Gemeinsam mit den übrigen Gründungsmitgliedern wurde Seraphine 2016 als Mitglied von Chicago in die Rock & Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen.
Nach längerer musikalischer Pause gründete Seraphine 2007 die California Transit Authority, mit der er an den Jazz-Rock-Sound der frühen Chicago-Jahre anknüpfte. Seit 2025 führt er dieses musikalische Erbe unter dem Namen Chicago Legacy weiter. Mit einer großen Band und natürlich dem charakteristischen Bläsersatz bringt er heute die Songs aus mehr als zwei Jahrzehnten Chicago-Geschichte zurück auf die Bühne.

What began in the late 1960s as an extraordinary combination of a rock band and a permanent horn section developed into an unmistakable sound and a career now spanning almost six decades. In 2016, Chicago was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, followed by the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020.

On December 2, Chicago Legacy, led by Chicago co-founder and original drummer Danny Seraphine, comes to Berlin for a very special concert! Seraphine brings to the stage the music he himself helped create over more than two decades.
Danny Seraphine was a member of Chicago from its formation in 1967 until 1990 and played on every studio album the band released during that period. He helped shape both the early years, when Chicago combined rock, jazz and soul into a groundbreaking band sound, and the huge international successes of the 1980s. Together with the other founding members, Seraphine was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Chicago in 2016.
After an extended break from performing, Seraphine founded the California Transit Authority in 2007, returning to the jazz-rock sound of Chicago’s early years. Today he continues this musical legacy with Chicago Legacy. Backed by a powerful band and, of course, the signature horn sound, Seraphine brings the music from more than two decades of Chicago history back to the stage.
