Auch Thrust, Man-Child und viele andere Platten definierten den Sound zwischen schwindelerregenden Jazzimprovisationen, hypnotischen Grooves und ausgefeilten Kompositionen. Gemeinsam mit einer Band bestehend aus den gefragtesten Berliner Hochleistungsjazzern widmet sich Gincel der funkigeren Seite des Jahrhundertmusikers. Ein absolutes Must-See!

Uri Gincel ist einer der gefragtesten und angesehensten Jazzpianisten in Berlin. Gincels Stil ist stark in der Tradition verwurzelt, aber er versteht es, den Jazz in die Moderne zu bringen. Sein Spiel ist dynamisch, lyrisch und vor allem voller Energie und Kraft! Der in Tel Aviv geborene Gincel kam 2009 nach Berlin und wurde schnell zu einem einflussreichen Teil der Jazzszene. Uri tourte mit vielen Projekten um die Welt, darunter das "Uri Gincel Trio" und "Bonaparte", und studierte bei bedeutenden Musikern wie Arnie Lawrence und Walter Blending Jr.

Dass Sebastian Studnitzky als Trompeter und als Pianist auf internationalem Top-Niveau musiziert, ist an sich schon eine Sensation. Wie wenige andere  Instrumentalisten seiner Generation ist er in den Clubs und auf den Festivals weltweit präsent (mit Nils Landgren’s Funk unit, Jazzanova, Mezzoforte oder Wolfgang Haffner). Aktuell ist er auf den Aufnahmen von Nils Landgrens Funk Unit, Jazzanova, Wolfgang Haffner, Nightmares On Wax, Moritz von Oswald, Mezzoforte, Dominic Miller u.v.m. zu hören. 2012 gründete er mit Contemplate sein eigenes Label/Netzwerk. 2014 initiierte er als musikalischer Leiter das XJAZZ Festival – das aus dem Stand größte Jazzfestival Berlins – und stellte damit mal eben die Jazzszene in Deutschland auf den Kopf. Seit September 2014 lehrt Sebastian Studnitzky als Professor an der Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. 2015 bekam Sebastian Studnitzky den ECHO Jazz und in 2020 den OPUS Klassik für das Duo Projekt "A Bernstein Story" mit Sebastian Manz.

Der in Tel Aviv geborene und in Berlin lebende Ori Jacobson ist einer der beliebtesten und renommiertesten Saxophonisten der Stadt. Er hat an der Seite von Esperanza Spalding (Gewinnerin von vier Grammy Awards), Terri Lyne Carrington (Gewinnerin von zwei Grammy Awards) und Susana Baca (Gewinnerin des Latin Grammy) gespielt und ist auf weltbekannten Bühnen wie dem North Sea Jazz Festival, dem Montreux Jazz Festival, dem Beacon Theater und der Agganis Arena aufgetreten, um nur einige zu nennen. Ori ist Magna Cum Laude-Absolvent des Berklee College of Music für Bachelor- und Master-Abschlüsse am Global Jazz Institute unter der Leitung von Danilo Perez und erhielt ein Vollstipendium für beide Abschlüsse für sein herausragendes Spiel. Während seiner Zeit in Berklee studierte er eng mit einigen der wichtigsten Saxophonisten der heutigen Jazzszene: Joe Lovano, George Garzone und David Liebman. Ori ist derzeit der Saxophonist des Doug Weiss Quartetts und des Louis Bonilla Quintetts.

Makar Novikov aus Moskau ist einer der bekanntesten russischen Jazz-Kontrabassisten. Als erfahrener Begleiter und virtuoser Solist ist er mit Künstlern wie Jimmy Cobb, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath und James Spaulding aufgetreten. Er ist Absolvent der anerkannten Gnesins' Russian Academy of Music. Nach seinem Umzug nach Italien im Jahr 2022 begann er, intensiv mit italienischen Musikern wie Rosario Giuliani oder Maurizio Giammarco zusammenzuarbeiten und Jazzbass an der Siena Jazz University zu unterrichten. Heute tritt er regelmäßig als Mitglied der Projekte von Alex Sipiagin und Antonio Faraò sowie mit dem Olivia Trummer Trio und dem Isfar Sarabski Trio auf und tourt weltweit.

Magro vereint in seiner Musik viele seiner musikalischen Einflüsse wie Herbie Hancock, J Dilla und Chris Dave. In der Berliner Jazz-Peripherie kommt man anan dem umtriebigen Multitalent nur schwer vorbei. Im Laufe der Jahre Magro hat mit zahlreichen KünstlerInnen als Schlagzeuger und Produzent zusammengearbeitet, darunter Kurt Rosenwinkel, Wayne Snow und BIGYUKI. Darüber hinaus war er Produzent vieler Alben und Singles von Leona Berlin – darunter „Wrong Lane (featuring Snoop Dogg)“. Nachdem 2021 sein erstes Album „Trippin“ erschien und mit dem „Deutschen Jazzpreis“ (für „Debütalbum des Jahres“) ausgezeichnet wurde, veröffentlichte er vor kurzem sein zweites Werk.

Uri Gincel is one of the most in demand and respected Jazz pianists in Berlin. Gincel´s style can be described as heavily rooted in tradition but with sensibility and understanding of bringing jazz into the modern age. His playing is dynamic, lyrical and above full of energy and power! Born in Tel-Aviv, Gincel came to Berlin in 2009 and quickly became an influential part of the Jazz scene, Uri toured the world with many projects, including "Uri Gincel Trio” and “Bonaparte” and studied under some major musicians as Arnie Lawrence and Walter Blending Jr.

Since September 2014, Sebastian Studnitzky has been teaching as a professor at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. Ori is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Global Jazz Institute lead by Danilo Perez, awarded a full tuition scholarship for both degrees for outstanding jazz and saxophone performance. During his time in Berklee he studied closely with some of the most dominant saxophone voices of today's jazz scene: Joe Lovano, George Garzone and David Liebman. Ori is currently the saxophone player of the Doug Weiss Quartet and Louis Bonilla Quintet.

Makar Novikov from Moscow is one of the best known Russian jazz double bassists. An experienced accompanist and virtuoso soloist, he has performed with artists like Jimmy Cobb, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath and James Spaulding. He is a graduate of the acknowledged Gnesins’ Russian Academy of Music. After his move to Italy in 2022, he started to work extensively with Italian musicians like Rosario Giuliani or Maurizio Giammarco, and to teach jazz bass at the Siena Jazz University. Today, he regularly appears as a member of Alex Sipiagin’s and Antonio Faraò’s projects as well as with the Olivia Trummer Trio and the Isfar Sarabski Trio, touring worldwide.

Magro brings together a wide range of musical influences in his work, including Herbie Hancock, J Dilla, and Chris Dave. In Berlin's jazz scene, this dynamic multi-talent is hard to miss. Over the years, Magro has collaborated with numerous artists as a drummer and producer, such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Wayne Snow, and BIGYUKI. He has also produced many albums and singles for Leona Berlin, including "Wrong Lane (featuring Snoop Dogg)." After releasing his debut album "Trippin" in 2021, which won the "German Jazz Award" for "Debut Album of the Year," he recently released his second album.
