Jazz Sabbath ist ein international erfolgreiches und inzwischen mehrfach preisgekröntes Jazztrio aus Großbritannien, das neue Jazz-Arrangements von Black Sabbath-Songs spielt. Angeführt vom Pianisten und frisch gebackenen Grammy Gewinner (Beste Rock-Performance 2026) Adam Wakeman (Keyboarder von Black Sabbath und Ozzy Osbourne seit 2004) überschreitet Jazz Sabbath die Grenzen zwischen Jazz und den Songs, die Heavy Metal definiert haben. Laut offizieller Bandvita gründete sich das Trio 1968 und sind die ursprünglichen Autoren der zahlreichen Welthits der Metalpioniere wie “Paranoid”, “Black Sabbath” oder “War Pigs”. Jazz Sabbath is an internationally successful and now multi-award-winning jazz trio from the United Kingdom that performs new jazz arrangements of Black Sabbath songs. Led by pianist and newly crowned Grammy winner (Best Rock Performance 2026) Adam Wakeman — keyboardist for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne since 2004 — Jazz Sabbath blurs the boundaries between jazz and the songs that defined heavy metal. According to the band’s official biography, the trio was founded in 1968 and claims to be the original author of the many global hits later made famous by the metal pioneers, such as “Paranoid,” “Black Sabbath,” and “War Pigs.” Whether or not one chooses to believe this tongue-in-cheek backstory, with three albums already in the Billboard Jazz Charts, sold-out shows around the world, and outstanding reviews in both jazz and rock media, Jazz Sabbath are rapidly making their way (back) to the top of the jazz scene.
