Der Grammy-Preisträger Keyon Harrold ist in den letzten Jahren in die obersten Sphären der internationalen Musikwelt aufgestiegen. Er ist einer der genreübergreifend gefragtesten Trompeter, Arrangeure und Produzenten unserer Zeit und gibt am heutigen Abend sein lang erwartetes ZigZag-Debut mit seiner eigenen Band und seiner eigenen unverwechselbaren Musik. Diese ist ebenfalls exquisit besetzt mit den besten Musikern der US-Amerikanischen Szene.

Für Harrold ist das Einzige, was ein Genre kennzeichnet, sein Rhythmus ist. So reißt er die Mauern des Genres ein und bewegt sich frei durch die Welt der Musik. Da es nur 12 Töne gibt, fließt seine Seele in jede musikalische Situation, sei es bei Live-Auftritten und der Leitung seiner Band, beim Aufnehmen, beim Komponieren für Fernsehen und Film oder beim Unterrichten.

Er ist ein Talent auf der Trompete, das nur einmal in einer Generation vorkommt. Sein Ansatz und Klang sind persönlich und fesselnd; eine Art magischer Schleier, oft als moderner Miles Davis bezeichnet. Keyon war die Trompetenstimme von Miles Davis im Film "Miles Ahead" von Don Cheadle; für den Soundtrack erhielt er einen Grammy Award.

Von Tourneen und Aufnahmen mit Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Cirque Du Soleil, bis zur Untervertragnahme durch den legendären Rapper Nas und dem Schreiben des Titelsongs für die Show von Queen Latifah.

Keyon ist ein gefragter Trompeter, Arrangeur, Komponist und Musikproduzent mit Mitwirkungen an vielen mit dem Grammy Award ausgezeichneten und nominierten Alben. Er hat im Studio mit Keith Richards, Diana Ross, Black Pumas, Mac Miller, Big K.R.I.T., Leon Bridges sowie Samm Henshaw zusammengearbeitet. Keyon ist außerdem auch bei Projekten von Robert Glasper, Maxwell (Black Summers Night), Common, PJ Morton und Gregory Porter ein gern gesehener Gast.

Musically, Harrold lives by the notion that the only thing that identifies a genre is its beat.  That belief has allowed Harrold to tear down the walls of the genre to roam music freely. There are only 12 notes, so he pours his soul into every musical situation, be it performing live and leading his band, recording, composing for television and film, mentoring youth, and teaching music.

Keyon’s career is a spectrum of greatness in terms of collaboration and as a solo artist.   He is a once-in-a-generation type talent on trumpet. His approach and sound are personal as well as engaging; a sort of magical haze often referred to as modern-day Mile’s Davis.  Keyon was the trumpet voice of Miles Davis in the “Miles Ahead Film by Don Cheadle; in which the soundtrack received a Grammy Award.
From touring and recording with Jay-z , Beyonce,Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Cirque Du Soleil being signed by legendary Rapper Nas and writing the theme song for The Queen Latifah’s Show.

Keyon is a first-call trumpeter, arranger, composer, and music producer, with feature credits on many Grammy Award Winning and Nominated Albums.
