Das Quartett “Miles & More” widmet sich den Kompositionen und dem Oeuvre des wohl beliebtesten und bedeutendsten Jazztrompeters: Miles Davis! Es besteht aus einigen der talentiertesten und gefragtesten Musiker der heutigen Jazzszene. Das All-Star-Ensemble unter der Leitung des berüchtigten Berliner Jazz-Giganten Uri Gincel konzentriert sich auf die Ära der 50er, 60er und 70er Jahre, als die Musik durch ihren hochenergetischen Puls und ihre flüssige Melodieführung geprägt war. Mit einer einzigartigen Rhythmusgruppe, mit Fluss und Energie auf höchstem Niveau und einer wirklich einzigartigen und starken Bläsersektion wird dies ein besonderer Abend voller Soulfulness, geradliniger Power und ekstatischen Interplay im Geiste des wohl einflussreichsten Jazzmusikers aller Zeiten.

Uri Gincel ist einer der gefragtesten und angesehensten Jazzpianisten in Berlin. Gincels Stil ist stark in der Tradition verwurzelt, aber er versteht es, den Jazz in die Moderne zu bringen. Sein Spiel ist dynamisch, lyrisch und vor allem voller Energie und Kraft! Der in Tel Aviv geborene Gincel kam 2009 nach Berlin und wurde schnell zu einem einflussreichen Teil der Jazzszene. Uri tourte mit vielen Projekten um die Welt, darunter das "Uri Gincel Trio" und "Bonaparte", und studierte bei bedeutenden Musikern wie Arnie Lawrence und Walter Blending Jr. Seit Jahren ist er aus der Berliner Szene nicht mehr wegzudenken und hat als Host der dienstäglichen Session im ZigZag eine wahre Institution im kulturellen Leben an der Spree geschaffen.

Dass Sebastian Studnitzky als Trompeter und als Pianist auf internationalem Top-Niveau musiziert, ist an sich schon eine Sensation. Wie wenige andere  Instrumentalisten seiner Generation ist er in den Clubs und auf den Festivals weltweit präsent (mit Nils Landgren’s Funk unit, Jazzanova, Mezzoforte oder Wolfgang Haffner). Aktuell ist er auf den Aufnahmen von Nils Landgrens Funk Unit, Jazzanova, Wolfgang Haffner, Nightmares On Wax, Moritz von Oswald, Mezzoforte, Dominic Miller u.v.m. zu hören. 2012 gründete er mit Contemplate sein eigenes Label/Netzwerk. 2014 initiierte er als musikalischer Leiter das XJAZZ Festival – das aus dem Stand größte Jazzfestival Berlins – und stellte damit mal eben die Jazzszene in Deutschland auf den Kopf. Seit September 2014 lehrt Sebastian Studnitzky als Professor an der Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. 2015 bekam Sebastian Studnitzky den ECHO Jazz und in 2020 den OPUS Klassik für das Duo Projekt "A Bernstein Story" mit Sebastian Manz.

Ivars Arutyunyan ist ein musikalischer, energiegeladener, dynamischer Musiker und Schlagzeuger aus Lettland. Er hat sein ganzes Leben lang Musik studiert verbrachte mehrere Jahre in Kopenhagen und Paris, lebt jetzt in Berlin. Er ist ein aktives Mitglied der europäischen Jazz- und Improvisationsmusikszene und hat mit Künstlern wie Seamus Blake, Greg Osby, Logan Richardson, Jerry Bergonzi, Jesse van Ruller und Carsten Dahl gespielt, um nur einige zu nennen. Er ist in mehr als 30 Ländern aufgetreten und wurde mit dem Großen Lettischen Musikpreis 2022, der Besten Jazzplatte des Jahres in Lettland (2019), dem Grand Prix in Jazz Hoeilaart (BE), dem Almeria Jazz (ESP) und dem Yamaha Drum Day (LV) ausgezeichnet ) usw.

The quartet "Miles & More" is dedicated to the compositions and oeuvre of probably the most popular and important jazz trumpeter: Miles Davis! Uri Gincel is one of the most sought-after and respected jazz pianists in Berlin. Gincel's style is strongly rooted in tradition, but he knows how to bring jazz into the modern age. His playing is dynamic, lyrical and above all full of energy and power! Born in Tel Aviv, Gincel came to Berlin in 2009 and quickly became an influential part of the jazz scene. Uri toured the world with many projects, including the "Uri Gincel Trio" and "Bonaparte", and studied with eminent musicians such as Arnie Lawrence and Walter Blending Jr. For years it has been impossible to imagine the Berlin scene without him, and as host of the Tuesday session at ZigZag he has created a true institution in the cultural life of the Spree.

The fact that Sebastian Studnitzky makes music as a trumpeter and as a pianist at the top international level is in itself a sensation. In 2014, as musical director, he initiated the XJAZZ Festival - the largest jazz festival in Berlin from a standing start - and turned the jazz scene in Germany upside down. Since September 2014, Sebastian Studnitzky has been teaching as a professor at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden. Tel Aviv born and Berlin based, Ori Jacobson has played alongside Esperanza Spalding (Four Grammy Awards winner), Terri Lyne Carrington (Two Grammy Awards winner), Susana Baca (Latin Grammy winner) and performed on world renown stages such as North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Beacon Theater and Agganis Arena to name a few. Ori is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Berklee College of Music for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Global Jazz Institute lead by Danilo Perez, awarded a full tuition scholarship for both degrees for outstanding jazz and saxophone performance. During his time in Berklee he studied closely with some of the most dominant saxophone voices of today's jazz scene: Joe Lovano, George Garzone and David Liebman. Ori is currently the saxophone player of the Doug Weiss Quartet and Louis Bonilla Quintet.

Paul Kleber was born in Berlin and started playing cello and drums at a young age, before he chose his main instrument, the double bass. He studied classical bass at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin and later jazz bass at the Universität der Künste Berlin. He played and recorded with Jazzanova, Sebastian Studnitzky, British band Fink, Micatone, Nylon, JazzIndeed and Lisa Bassenge.

He has performed in more than 30 countries and has been awarded the Latvian Music Grand Prize 2022, Best Jazz Record of the Year in Latvia (2019), Grand Prix in Jazz Hoeilaart (BE), Almeria Jazz (ESP) and Yamaha Drum Day (LV) ) etc.
