Um Simone ein musikalisches Denkmal zu setzen, hat die aufstrebende Berliner Sängerin EMILY INTSIFUL mit ihrer eigens zusammengestellten Band ein Programm erarbeitet, das den Geist von Simones Musik einfängt und weiterentwickelt. EMILY INTSIFUL ist eine in Köln geborene, in Berlin lebende Sängerin, Songwriterin und Produzentin mit ghanaisch-liberianischen Wurzeln. Nach klassischer Ausbildung wandte sie sich Pop, Soul, Jazz und Afrobeats zu und wurde 2013 durch The Voice of Germany bekannt. Sie arbeitete eng mit Nena zusammen und war bis 2023 Teil ihrer Band; 2025 präsentierte Emily im KaDeWe selbst arrangierte Christmas Carols mit Streichquartett und 2026 sang sie im Deutschen Bundestag zum Trauerstaatsakt der ehemaligen Bundestagspräsidentin Dr. Rita Süssmuth. Aktuell studiert sie Jazzgesang am Jazzinstitut Berlin.

TOM SEHRER ist Jazzpianist, Komponist und Kulturunternehmer. Sein musikalisches Fundament sind die klassische Musik und der Blues. Die darin enthaltene dialektisch verwobene Gefühlswelt, die Lyrik und Dynamik – all das verarbeitet er mit großer Spielfreude zu einem ganz eigenen Sound im Jazz.

TRIGO SANTANA ist ein Bassist, Gitarrist, Arrangeur und Lehrer aus Brasilien, der seit 2016 in Berlin lebt und aufgrund seiner Vielseitigkeit, die es ihm ermöglicht, sich fließend in den unterschiedlichsten Musikstilen zu bewegen, sehr gefragt ist. Derzeit arbeitet er als Begleitmusiker in verschiedenen Projekten für brasilianischen und lateinamerikanischen Jazz und improvisierte Instrumentalmusik, aber auch Funk, Soul, Pop, klassische und afrikanische Musik.

DAVID MILLÁN gehört zu den interessantesten Schlagzeugern der derzeitigen Musikwelt. Das kolumbianische Ausnahmetalent studierte erst in Ecuador und dann für den Master am Jazz-Institut Berlin und bereichert nun schon seit einigen Jahren die europäische Szene. Bekannt ist er für seine Stilsicherheit in fast allen Bereichen der lateinamerikanischen Musik und seine Wandlungs- und Anpassungsfähigkeit. Er arbeitete mit vielen namhaften internationalen Künstlern zusammen und ist neben seiner Tätigkeit als freischaffender Künstler ebenfalls als Produzent, Tontechniker und Leiter seiner eigenen Online-Schlagzeugschule tätig.

As a soulful and powerful singer, virtuoso pianist, and committed advocate for equality all in one, her life and work are as inspiring today as ever. To pay musical tribute to Simone, rising Berlin-based singer EMILY INTSIFUL has put together her own band and developed a program that captures and further develops the spirit of Simone’s music. EMILY INTSIFUL is a singer, songwriter, and producer with Ghanaian-Liberian roots, born in Cologne and based in Berlin. After classical training, she turned to pop, soul, jazz, and Afrobeats and became known through The Voice of Germany in 2013. She worked closely with Nena and was part of her band until 2023; in 2025, Emily presented her own arrangements of Christmas carols with a string quartet at KaDeWe, and in 2026 she sang at the German Bundestagduring the state memorial ceremony for former Bundestag President Dr. Rita Süssmuth. She is currently studying jazz vocals at the Jazz Institute Berlin.

TOM SEHRER is a jazz pianist, composer, and cultural entrepreneur. His musical foundations lie in classical music and the blues. The dialectically intertwined emotional world, lyricism, and dynamics contained within them are all transformed through his great joy of playing into a distinctive jazz sound of his own.

TRIGO SANTANA is a bassist, guitarist, arranger, and teacher from Brazil who has lived in Berlin since 2016 and is highly sought after for his versatility, which allows him to move fluidly through a wide variety of musical styles. He currently works as a sideman in various projects spanning Brazilian and Latin American jazz and improvised instrumental music, as well as funk, soul, pop, classical, and African music.

DAVID MILLÁN is one of the most interesting drummers in today’s music world. The exceptional Colombian talentfirst studied in Ecuador and later completed his master’s studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin, and has been enriching the European scene for several years. He is known for his stylistic confidence across almost all areas of Latin American music, as well as his versatility and adaptability. He has worked with many renowned international artists and, alongside his work as a freelance artist, is also active as a producer, sound engineer, and director of his own online drum school.
