Mit The Poetics stellt Omer Klein ein neues Sextett vor, das zentrale Facetten seines Schaffens als Pianist und Komponist bündelt. Das Ensemble vereint eigenständige musikalische Persönlichkeiten an verschiedenen Keyboards, Bässen, Perkussions- und Blasinstrumenten zu einer farbenreichen, flexibel agierenden Formation. Die eigens für The Poetics geschriebenen Kompositionen verbinden prägnante Grooves, markante Melodien und offene harmonische Strukturen mit einem erweiterten Fokus auf Arrangement und Orchestrierung. Besonders deutlich treten dabei Kleins Bezüge zu musikalischen Traditionen aus Brasilien und Afrika hervor, die dem Projekt eine klare rhythmische und klangliche Prägung verleihen.

Mit seiner Gabe, modernen Jazz mit Elementen aus jüdischer und arabischer Musik zu verquicken, zählt Omer Klein zu den wichtigsten neuen Musikern – nicht nur des Jazz. Seine Kunst ist keine der stilistischen Abgrenzung, sondern der Öffnung. Frei von Klischees, offen für alles. Von Klassik bis hin zu mediterraner Volksmusik, von Rock bis Reggae. Vom passgenauen Zusammenspiel der drei Musiker bis zum unbegleiteten Solo des Trio-Vorstehers. Der Weltenbummler lebte zeitweise in der Jazz-Hauptstadt New York, verbrachte aber auch einige Jahre in Deutschland. Egal wo, er hinterließ bleibende Eindrücke und hatte die Möglichkeit mit den visionärsten MusikerInnen zu arbeiten, wie Donny McCaslin, Jaleel Shaw, Clarence Penn und vielen mehr und gehört zur exklusiven Riege der Steinway Artists.

Tineke Postma ist einer der funkelndsten Sterne am europäischen Jazzhimmel. Das Ausnahmetalent tourt international mit den gefragtesten Musikern und ihre Arbeiten als Leaderin wurden von Down Beat, Rolling Stone oder Jazzthetik herausragend gut bewertet. Sie teilte Bühne und Aufnahmestudio mit Kenny Barron, Herbie Hancock, Dan Weiss, Geri Allen, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dianne Reeves und vielen mehr. Ihr Spiel ist auf zwei Grammy-prämierten Alben zu hören und wurde mit zahlreichen Individualpreisen wie dem Jazz Juan Revelations Award, dem Buma Boy Edgar Award oder dem Rising Star des Down-Beat-Magazins 2019 ausgezeichnet.

Omri Abramov ist ein israelischer Saxophonist, Komponist und Produzent. Er leitet das in New York ansässige Trio Hovercraft, ist Co-Leader des in Berlin beheimateten Big Berry sowie des Jazz-Fusion-Trios NITT. Darüber hinaus präsentiert Omri sein Können als Saxophonist und EWI-Spieler (Electronic Wind Instrument) an der Seite der international gefeierten Sängerin Noa. Er ist Tenorsaxophonist und Flötist in Omer Kleins Projekt The Poetics sowie Produzent und Saxophonist des iranisch-israelischen Ethno-Jazz-Ensembles Sistanagila. Omris beeindruckender musikalischer Werdegang umfasst bemerkenswerte Auftritte und Studiozusammenarbeiten mit renommierten Künstlern wie Dennis Chambers, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Odean Pope, Shai Maestro, Pete Lockett und anderen.

Tupac Mantilla ist ein Schlagzeuger und Perkussionist aus Kolumbien. Seine Alma Mater ist das New England Conservatory, 2002 gewann er im Alter von 22 Jahren den ersten Solistenpreis des Philharmonischen Orchesters Bogotá. Der äußerst vielseitige Mantilla ist in klassischer, lateinamerikanischer und der Jazzmusik gleichermaßen zuhause und konnte im Laufe seiner Karriere mit einigen der größten Musiker auftreten, darunter Bobby McFerrin, Esperanza Spalding, Julian Lage, John Patitucci und vielen mehr.

Der Schlagzeuger Amir Bresler kam im Alter von 15 Jahren zum ersten Mal mit Jazzmusik in Berührung, als er sich für das Jazzprogramm an der Thelma-Yellin National High School of the Arts in Givataim, Israel, registrierte, die er mit Auszeichnung abschloss. In den letzten Jahren hat sich Amir als einer der gefragtesten israelischen Schlagzeuger etabliert, trat auch Gastmusikern wie Sam Yahel, Joel Fraham, Mark Turner, Kirk Lightsay und Dwayne Bruno auf. Klein’s love for the musical worlds of Brazil and Africa are especially prevalent in the Poetics universe.

Tupac Mantilla is a drummer and percussionist from Colombia. His alma mater is the New England Conservatory, and in 2002, at the age of 22, he won the first soloist prize of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra. The extremely versatile Mantilla is equally at home in classical, Latin American and jazz music and has performed with some of the greatest musicians over the course of his career, including Bobby McFerrin, Esperanza Spalding, Julian Lage, John Patitucci and many more.

Amir Bresler – A drummer of immense skill, Amir began his jazz journey at the age of 15, excelling in the jazz program at the Thelma-Yellin National High School of the Arts in Israel. Now one of the most in-demand drummers in the Israeli jazz scene, Amir has performed with luminaries such as Sam Yahel, Joel Frahm, Mark Turner, and Dwayne Burno. His collaborations span a wide spectrum of Israeli artists, including Avishai Cohen, Daniel Zamir, Kutiman, Gilad Hekselman, Shai Maestro, and Nitai Hershkovits, to name a few.
