BLOFISH one could say is not necessarily a secret to everyone anymore. But sure is a good reason to turn off your TV, get up from your couch and get moving. Music that hits you unexpectedly by surprise. Sometimes quiet, groaning, impulsive, explosive, subtile or surprisingly experimental without ever losing base to the puls of the groove - just simply called - Vibrant-Fugu-Jazz. Almost like a little big band, that quintet first got together 2007 founded by the drummer Emanuel Hauptmann and Oliver Saar on tubax & barri-sax. Soon they got recognized by the Berlin broadcaster RBB and LAIKA-Records where they recorded their Album/CD "THREE - AGAINST - TWO". Several concerts and invitations should follow to venues, festivals and clubs within Germany and over the borderlines till Russia and back. In collaboration of the 22nd international animation festival in Stuttgart, their music also got awarded for the animation film "JAZZ ORGIE" directed by Irina Rubina. That's exactly what BLOFISH's intention is - to please and reach their listeners by letting them participate on their music, often ending in a perspirational jazz orgie…
BLOFISH ...könnte man sagen, ist schon lang kein Geheimtip mehr, eher ein Grund mehr vom Sofa aufzustehen und den Fernseher mal auszuschalten - Musik, die immer anders ist als man denkt - mal laut, mal ruhig, grollend, verhalten - leise, dann wieder explosiv, experimentell und immer überraschend... Musik die einen direkt trifft - einfach gesagt - Vibrant-Fugu-Jazz... In der bewegten Bio des Berliner-Ensembels, fing alles damit an, dass (Gründer) Emanuel Hauptmann (drums) zusammen mit Oliver Saar (bari & tubax) das Quintett, BLOFISH (2007) ins Leben riefen. Einer kleinen Big-Band gleich, bilden die Fünf das aktuelle Team, das diese Besetzung - drei Bläser, Bass & Drums, so speziell macht. So empfand das auch die Jury des 22. Internationalen Trickfilm-Festivals Stuttgart bzgl. des so entstandenen BLOFISH-Soundtracks ("HORAX" / Komp.: E. Hauptmann) für den der Trickfilmtrailer "JAZZ ORGIE" nominierten und ausgezeichnet wurde (Regie & Animation: Irina Rubina). Ihre CD / "Three against Two" produzierten sie zusammen mit dem RBB und Laika-Records. Diverse Touren und Konzerte, durch Deutschland, wie auch durch weite Teile Russlands sollten folgen, um so die Menschheit in all den Clubs, Bars oder Festivals zu erreichen und mit ihrer schweißtreibenden Musik zu erfreuen.
