Olivia Trummer is touching people with her songs and improvisations. She is leaving a mark with her lyrics, exposing a very personal view on love, emptiness and letting go while arbitrating between mind and heart.

Trained in Stuttgart and in New York, the pianist and singer fascinates her audience with a vivid stage presence and a unique style which the press has started out to call the "Olivia Trummer style". With her complex and likewise catchy music she is considered internationally to be one of the most interesting female jazz musicians of her generation and has been invited to perform her music all over Germany as well as in the US, Switzerland, Italy, France, England, Ireland, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic and Russia.
In 2016, Kurt Rosenwinkel engaged her as a member of his new band "Caipi" which was touring extensively and worldwide, including the US, Canada, Europe, China and Japan.
After several exciting months on tour with Kurt Rosenwinkel and "Caipi", Olivia Trummer focuses upon her original music and her trio again. With Haggai Cohen-Milo on double bass and Nicola Angelucci on drums she has two top class musicians and kindred spirits on her side. Together, they are reaching into a unique cosmos between jazz and singer-songwriter, interpreting Olivia's songs with musical tastefulness and the playful attitude of a jazz musician.

Die in Stuttgart und New York ausgebildete Pianistin und Sängerin fasziniert ihr Publikum mit ihrer lebendigen Bühnenpräsenz und einem ganz eigenen Stil, den die Presse mittlerweile als "Olivia-Trummer-Stil" beschreibt. Mit ihrer komplexen und zugleich eingängigen Musik gilt sie über die Landesgrenzen hinaus als eine der interessantesten Jazzmusikerinnen ihrer Generation. Neben verschiedenen eigenen Projekten ist Olivia auch Mitglied von Kurt Rosenwinkels "Caipi"-Band, mit der sie 2017 bereits ausgiebig tourte: Durch Amerika, Kanada, Europa, China und Japan.

Olivias Trio ist mit Haggai Cohen-Milo (ISR) am Kontrabass und Nicola Angelucci (IT) am Schlagzeug international und hochkarätig besetzt. Haggai ist ein feingeistiger Virtuose, der vor kurzem aus New York nach Berlin gezogen ist und so manchem z.B. durch seine langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit Omer Klein oder auch seine "MakeSpeak method" bereits ein Begriff sein dürfte. Nicola gilt als einer der besten Jazz-Schlagzeuger Europas, dessen außergewöhnlich energetisches und musikalisches Spiel auch von Jazz-Größen wie Bob James, Joey De Francesco, Benny Golson und Fabrizio Bosso geschätzt wird.
Das Olivia Trummer Trio strahlt Optimismus aus. Ihre Musik bewegt sich mal schwebend, mal groovend im weiten Kosmos zwischen Jazz, Pop und Singer-Songwriter und folgt dabei einem erfrischend eigenen Kompass.

EINTRITT
Einer der Gründe, die den Zig Zag Jazzclub so einzigartig machen, ist, dass er der erste und einzige Jazzclub der Welt ist, dem es gelingt nur durch freiwilligem Eintritt/Crowdfunding Events von Weltklasse zu finanzieren. Und wie machen wir das? Ganz einfach. Während der Konzertpause geben wir bekannt, dass wir Geld einsammeln werden. Bei den meisten Konzerten (außer Jam Sessions) informieren wir unsere Kunden, dass ein Beitrag von ungefähr 15 Euro es uns erlaubt die Musiker gerecht zu bezahlen. Manche geben dabei mehr und andere weniger... und das ist auch in Ordnung. Wir haben auf diese Weise schon Hunderte Konzerte organisiert.
ENTRANCE FEES
One of the reasons that makes the zig zag jazz club so unique is that it is the first and only jazz club in the world that manages to finance world class events through a crowd funding concept. How do we do it? Its quite simple… during the break of the concert we make an announcement regarding the collection for the evening. For most concerts (excluding the jam session) we inform our customers that a fee of around 15€ per person will allow us to fairly compensate the musicians. Some people give more and some give less… and that´s ok… we ´ve already successfully promoted hundreds of concerts like this!!!
