Dan Weiss ist Schlagzeuger, Komponist und Bandleader und lebt in New York City. Er ist bekannt für eine Arbeit, die Jazz, zeitgenössische Komposition und komplexe rhythmische Systeme miteinander verbindet. Neben seinem Schlagzeugspiel ist Weiss seit vielen Jahren intensiv mit der nordindischen klassischen Musik verbunden und studierte Tabla u. a. bei Pandit Samir Chatterjee. Als Bandleader leitet er mehrere Projekte, darunter Starebaby, Endangered Blood und Dan Weiss Quartet, und komponiert Musik für unterschiedlichste Besetzungen. Er arbeitete und arbeitete u. a. mit Musikern wie Rudresh Mahanthappa, Craig Taborn, Miguel Zenon, Ben Monder, Matt Mitchell und Lee Konitz. Weiss ist auf zahlreichen international veröffentlichten Aufnahmen zu hören und tritt regelmäßig auf Festivals und Konzertbühnen weltweit auf.

Peter Evans ist Komponist, Trompeter, Improvisator und Bandleader und lebt seit 2003 in New York City. Seine Arbeit erstreckt sich über ein breites Spektrum moderner musikalischer Praktiken und Traditionen. Er leitet und komponiert für mehrere verschiedene Ensembles und arbeitet weiterhin in einer Vielzahl neuer Formationen, erforscht durchkomponierte Musik, Gruppenimprovisation, Arrangement und elektronische Musik. Besonders hervorzuheben sind seine Arbeiten mit der Band Mostly Other People do the Killing, Rapper Kanye West, Mary Halvorson, Peter Brötzmann sowie den deutschen Shooting-Stars Wanja Slavin und Christian Lillinger. Evans hat seine Werke bei großen Festivals weltweit vorgestellt und/oder aufgeführt und wurde im Jahr 2022 mit einem Guggenheim-Stipendium für Musikkomposition ausgezeichnet.

Patricia Brennan ist eine mexikanisch-amerikanische Vibraphonistin, Marimbistin, Improvisatorin und Komponistin. Sie wurde in Veracruz geboren und wuchs in Mexiko auf, wo sie ersten Musikunterricht erhielt Später studierte sie am Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia und spielte dort u. a. mit dem Philadelphia Orchestra und Ensembles mit Mitgliedern von Eight Blackbird. Seit 2014 ist Brennan Teil der New Yorker Jazzszene und arbeitete mit Formationen wie dem John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble, Mary Halvorson’s Amaryllis, Tomas Fujiwara’s 7 Poets Trio und Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro Latin Jazz Big Band. Auch alls Bandleaderin veröffentlichte sie mehrere Alben. Ihr Schaffen wurde mehrfach in Best-Of-Listen renommierter Medien aufgeführt, u. a. in den 10 Best Jazz Albums der New York Times. Breaking Stretch wurde im DownBeat Critics Poll als Album des Jahres ausgezeichnet, und Brennan erhielt den Titel Vibraphonistin des Jahres (2025).

Miles Okazaki ist ein US-amerikanischer Gitarrist und Komponist. Seine Ausbildung erhielt er a der Harvard University, der Manhattan Scholl of Music und der Juillard School. Seit seinem Abschluss ist er fester Teil der New Yorker Szene und spielte unter anderem mit Kenny Barron, Steve Coleman oder Stanley Turrentine. Besonderes Aufsehen erregte er mit seiner Teilnahme an der Finalrunde bei der Thelonious Monk Competition, seinen Arbeiten mit derzeitigen Lichtgestalten der New Yorker Szene wie Jon Irabagon oder Miguel Zenon und seiner Kompletteinspielung aller 70 Monk-Kompositionen.

Dan Weiss is a drummer, composer, and bandleader based in New York City. His work brings together jazz, contemporary composition, and highly developed rhythmic systems. In addition to his work on the drum set, Weiss has maintained a long-standing and serious engagement with North Indian classical music, studying tabla with Pandit Samir Chatterjee among others. As a bandleader, he leads several projects including Starebaby, Endangered Blood, and the Dan Weiss Quartet, composing music for a wide range of ensembles. Peter Evans is a composer, trumpeter, improviser and bandleader based in New York City since 2003. His work spans a wide range of modern musical practices and traditions. He conducts and composes for several different ensembles and continues to work in a variety of new formations, exploring through-composed music, group improvisation, arranging and electronic music. Of particular note is his work with the band Mostly Other People do the Killing, Rapper Kanye West, Mary Halvorson, Peter Brötzmann and German shooting stars Wanja Slavin and Christian Lillinger. Evans has presented and/or performed his works at major festivals worldwide and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in Music Composition in 2022.

Patricia Brennan is a Mexican-American vibraphonist, marimbist, improviser, and composer. She was born in Veracruz and grew up in Mexico, where she received her first musical training. Her work has been featured in numerous best-of lists by leading publications, including the New York Times’ “10 Best Jazz Albums.” Breaking Stretch was named Album of the Year in the DownBeat Critics Poll, and Brennan was awarded Vibraphonist of the Year in 2025.

Miles Okazaki is an American guitarist and composer. He studied at Harvard University, the Manhattan School of Music, and the Juilliard School. Since completing his studies, he has been an integral part of the New York music scene, performing with artists such as Kenny Barron, Steve Coleman, and Stanley Turrentine. He gained particular recognition through his appearance as a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Competition, his collaborations with leading figures of the contemporary New York scene such as Jon Irabagon and Miguel Zenón, and his complete recording of all 70 compositions by Thelonious Monk.
