Ein internationales Highlight! Die beiden Jazzgroßmeister Mike LeDonne und Joris Dudli kennen sich bereits seit Jahrzehnten, begannen ihre musikalische Zusammenarbeit allerdings erst 2020. Umso mehr freuen sie sich jetzt ihr neues Quintett mit 3 jungen, aufstrebenden Talenten der New Yorker und Wiener Jazzszene zu präsentieren, mit dem im Februar 2025 ihre erste Aufnahme entstanden ist. Freuen Sie sich auf ein mitreißendes Konzert mit beeindruckenden Virtuosen, wo sich Tradition und die Zukunft der Jazzwelt von ihrer besten Seite präsentieren!

Der Pianist Mike Le Donne ist ein international bekannter Pianist und Organist mit der einzigartigen Erfahrung, mit einer großen Bandbreite von Jazzmeistern von Benny Goodman bis Milt Jackson und Sonny Rollins gespielt zu haben. Später arbeitete er mit dem Art Farmer-Clifford Jordan Quintet und spielte mit moderneren Meistern wie James Moody, Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Turrentine und Bobby Hutcherson, auch mit dem Milt Jackson Quartet und Benny Golson. Er leitete auch Trios, zu denen Größen wie Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, Billy Hart, Pete LaRoca und Louis Hayes gehörten. 

Andrew Wagner ist ein aufstrebender Jazztrompeter aus dem Großraum New York/New Jersey und Absolvent der William Paterson University, wo er bei Trompetenmeister Jeremy Pelt studierte. Nachdem er in der High School eine Aufnahme von Clifford Brown gehört hatte, widmete er sich ernsthaft seiner Leidenschaft, Trompete zu spielen. 

Alex de Lazzari stammt ursprünglich aus Italien, wuchs aber im Großraum Washington D.C. auf. 2017 zog er nach New York City und besuchte die William Paterson University. Hier studierte er bei Jazzgrößen wie Bill Charlap, Vincent Herring, Rich Perry und dem verstorbenen Harold Mabern. Noch vor seinem Abschluss im Jahr 2021 begann Alex in New York aufzutreten und hat sich heute als eine der stärksten jungen Stimmen am Tenorsaxophon etabliert.

Clemens Gigacher ist ein Multiinstrumentalist, der vor allem als Kontrabassist/E-Bassist/Pianist bekannt ist und auch als Komponist und Arrangeur arbeitet. Clemens wurde in eine musikalische Familie hineingeboren und begann seine musikalische Laufbahn schon in jungen Jahren mit Klavier und Gitarre. Er absolvierte die MUK (Privatuniversität für Musik und darstellende Kunst der Stadt Wien) und ist derzeit vor allem als Sideman in der lokalen Musikszene aktiv. 

Joris Dudli war von 1979 bis 1985 festes Mitglied des Vienna Art Orchestra und des Art Farmer Quintet. Nach seinem Umzug in die USA 1986 trat er mit vielen der größten Jazzmusiker der Welt auf und nahm mit ihnen auf: The Zawinul Syndicate, Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Johnny Griffin, Mullgrew Miller, Clifford Jordan, Joe Lovano.

An international highlight! The two jazz masters Mike LeDonne and Joris Dudli have known each other for decades, but only began their musical collaboration in 2020. All the more reason to be excited as they now present their new quintet, featuring three young and rising talents from the New York and Vienna jazz scenes, with whom they recorded their first album in February 2025. Pianist Mike LeDonne is an internationally renowned pianist and organist with the rare experience of having performed with an extraordinary range of jazz masters, from Benny Goodman to Milt Jackson and Sonny Rollins. He later worked with the Art Farmer–Clifford Jordan Quintet and performed with modern jazz greats such as James Moody, Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Turrentine and Bobby Hutcherson, as well as with the Milt Jackson Quartet and Benny Golson. LeDonne has also led trios featuring legends like Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, Billy Hart, Pete LaRoca and Louis Hayes.

Andrew Wagner is a rising jazz trumpeter from the greater New York/New Jersey area and a graduate of William Paterson University, where he studied with trumpet master Jeremy Pelt. After hearing a recording of Clifford Brown during high school, he committed himself wholeheartedly to the trumpet and to jazz music.

Alex de Lazzari was born in Italy and grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2017 he moved to New York City to attend William Paterson University, where he studied with jazz greats such as Bill Charlap, Vincent Herring, Rich Perry and the late Harold Mabern. Even before graduating in 2021, Alex began performing extensively in New York and has since established himself as one of the strongest young voices on the tenor saxophone.

Clemens Gigacher is a multi-instrumentalist best known as a double bassist, electric bassist and pianist, and also works as a composer and arranger. Born into a musical family, he began his musical journey at a young age with piano and guitar. He graduated from the MUK (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna) and is currently active primarily as a sideman on the local music scene.

Joris Dudli was a permanent member of the Vienna Art Orchestra and the Art Farmer Quintet from 1979 to 1985. After moving to the United States in 1986, he performed and recorded with many of the world’s leading jazz musicians, including The Zawinul Syndicate, Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Johnny Griffin, Mullgrew Miller, Clifford Jordan and Joe Lovano.
