Hiromi zählt zu den explosivsten Live-Performerinnen der Jazzgeschichte – eine globale Botschafterin ihres Fachs, gefeiert für ihre “dazzling artistry” (The New Yorker). Mit ihrem energiegeladenen Trio Project kehrt sie 2026 zurück auf Tour und vereint sich erneut mit Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck, Toto) am Schlagzeug und James Genus (Herbie Hancock, Daft Punk) am Bass. Die Grammy-Gewinnerin begeisterte u. a. bei den Olympischen Spielen 2021 und wurde 2024 für den Soundtrack zu Blue Giant mit dem Japanese Academy Award ausgezeichnet. Im KKL Luzern trifft ihre musikalische Brillanz auf einen Raum voller Tiefe.
HIROMI - Geboren in Hamamatsu, Japan, begann Hiromiim Alter von sechs Jahren Klavier zu spielen und wurde bereits mit 17 Jahren von Chick Corea eingeladen, gemeinsam mit ihm bei einem Konzert in Tokio aufzutreten. Später studierte sie am Berklee College of Music in Boston, wo sie von der Jazzlegende Ahmad Jamal gefördert wurde. Seit der Veröffentlichung ihres Debütalbums Another Mind (2003) hat Hiromi eine unverwechselbare musikalische Sprache entwickelt, die kontinuierlich die Grenzen zwischen Jazz und klassischer Musik, Komposition und Improvisationüberschreitet und dabei sowohl akustische als auch elektronische Klangwelten erkundet. Als überaus produktive Künstlerin hat sie zwölf Studioalben veröffentlicht, darunter Time Control, Beyond Standard, Spectrum, Silver Lining Suite und Sonicwonderland, und komponierte den Soundtrack für den Animationsfilm Blue Giant. Hiromi trat bei zahlreichen der weltweit bedeutendsten Jazzfestivals auf, darunter Montreux, Umbria, North Sea, Newport und Monterey, und war 2021 eine der herausragenden Künstlerinnen bei der Eröffnungsfeier der Olympischen Spiele in Tokio.

At KKL Lucerne, her musical brilliance meets a space of extraordinary depth.
HIROMI - Born in Hamamatsu, Japan, Hiromi began studying piano at the age of six and was invited to perform with Chick Corea at a Tokyo concert when she was just 17. She later attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she was mentored by jazz legend Ahmad Jamal. Since the release of her debut album Another Mind (2003), Hiromi has developed a distinctive musical language that continuously crosses the boundaries between jazz and classical music, composition and improvisation, while exploring both acoustic and electronic sounds. A prolific recording artist, she has released twelve studio albums, including Time Control, Beyond Standard, Spectrum, Silver Lining Suite and Sonicwonderland, and composed the soundtrack for the animated feature Blue Giant. Hiromi has performed at many of the world’s leading jazz festivals, including Montreux, Umbria, North Sea, Newport and Monterey, and appeared as a featured performer at the Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony in 2021.
